Q: How does the non-profit Santa Barbara Contemporary Arts Forum benefit Santa Barbara?
A: Santa Barbara Contemporary Arts Forum was founded in 1976 by a group of artists and patrons who wanted to bring high quality contemporary art to Santa Barbara. Over the past 30 years, thousands of artists (local, state, national and international) have exhibited their works in our gallery. The outreach to the community has embraced pre-school students to senior citizens in lectures, slide shows, workshops and gallery tours. SBCAF is internationally recognized as one of the outstanding venues for contemporary art in the western United States. CAF is supported by modest endowments, grants and donations. Gallery admission is free (suggested donation of $5). Gallery Hours: Tues-Sat 11am – 5pm, Sun noon – 5pm, 653 Paseo Nuevo, Santa Barbara.
Q: How will winners be notified?
A: Winners will be notified by phone and US mail using the contact info provided on the entry form.
Q: Is my raffle ticket tax deductible?
A: No. The IRS’ position is that amounts paid for chances in raffles, lotteries or similar drawings for valuable prizes are wagers, and consequently do not qualify as deductible charitable contributions.
Q: Can you tell me where the home(s) are located?
A: No. To protect the privacy of the potential Grand Prize Winner, we will not disclose the addresses. The Grand Prize Winner will have 14 days from the date of winning to inspect the properties before choosing one of the homes or the $1 million in cash. SBCAF cannot guarantee the Grand Prize Winner will be able to sell the home for its estimated value. |
